About the AGBC Chapter Munich

The Munich Chapter of the Club meets at the Marriott Hotel, Berlinerstrasse 93 in Munich (north Schwabing) on the last Wednesday of each month (excluding July, August and December). Registration starts at 6.30 PM, and the meeting itself commences at 7.00 PM. Our monthly meetings feature a guest speaker who addresses a current business, technology or cultural topic.  These events are held in English.

We also hold a variety of special events during the year including our AGBC Exchange (program featuring member-driven workshops), a great afternoon at the Oktoberfest, and the February and September kick-off get-togethers.

With a keen interest in promoting business contacts, we provide a well-rounded business networking platform with strong contacts to the Munich Area American and international community.  You do not need to be American or German to join. Our membership mix is about 30% American and 60% German with the remaining 10% coming mainly from other EU countries.

In the past couple of years the Guest Speaker presentations have covered a wide scope of German-American business, technology and cultural topics: disruptive innovation, corporate social responsibility, the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP), CESifo economics update, electric vehicles, cybersecurity, the Internet of Things, entrepreneurialism, big data (personalized medicine, IBM Watson project), technology (Hubble space telescope program, digital technology trends, carbon footprint, Deutsches Museum Vision 2025), US Consul General Updates on current German-American Relations, German and American use of knowledge, and Filmfest München.  These presentations provide a stimulating basis for discussions during the networking afterwards.

Come check us out at an upcoming monthly meeting or at any of our other posted events.  To assure sufficient food, beverages and seating, please be sure to sign up in the Events tool on the right side of the Munich Chapter page at www.agbc.de.
